The focus of the scientists is studying the state of reserves and health of aquatic bioresources, the state of the food supply, assessing the hydrological and gas regimes of the water body, the impact of amateur fishing and trade.
Lake Kotokel is the fourth largest among commercial lakes in Buryatia and is of great importance for fisheries. The studies were carried out at different stations throughout the water area of the reservoir in order to cover the main biotopes and depths. At all sampling points, the main environmental parameters were measured: surface and bottom temperatures, sampling depth, soil type, water transparency, mineralization and oxygen saturation of water, salinity. The specialists also collected ichthyopathological samples.
Currently, the collected materials are undergoing office processing.
