The disruption of logistics chains and the reduction in import volumes created the need to provide Russian fish farmers with domestic compound feeds.
Specialists of the Competence Center for Feeding and Feeding of the VNIRO Aquaculture facilities successfully cope with this task. Scientists have not only developed highly effective compound feeds based on domestic raw materials, but also successfully conducted their industrial testing at the largest fish-breeding enterprises in Russia. Thanks to the cooperation of VNIRO with business representatives, it was possible to establish the production of starter feeds for various types of fish.
In December 2022, the first 80 tons of starter feed for Pacific salmon were produced on the basis of the Tver Flour Mill (AQUAREX): the first batch has already been sent to the Far East. In 2023, it is planned to produce a line of high-energy compound feeds for salmon and trout, as well as production compound feeds for sturgeon and whitefish species.
In addition to the transfer of unique formulas, VNIRO technologists carry out extensive consulting work on equipment setup and construction of feed mills, as well as accompany the production process at all stages.
Thanks to the integrated approach of scientists of the branch of science, the sign on the packaging of compound feeds "produced under the control of VNIRO" serves as a reliable guarantee of the quality of the product.
