Issues of development of the Russian fishing industry were discussed in Arkhangelsk

A meeting on coastal fisheries development was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Trade of the Arkhangelsk Region, chaired by Minister Irina Bazhanova.

Representatives of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) also took part in the event, which discussed issues within the framework of the "Strategy for Socioeconomic Development of the Arkhangelsk Region until 2035".

The meeting participants visited the Arkhangelsk Seaweed Plant, the only enterprise in Russia that is engaged in the extraction and deep processing of Arctic seaweed. Today, this is a time-tested enterprise with exclusive technologies for the extraction and processing of White Sea seaweed. The plant's powerful production capabilities allow it to provide the largest companies on the planet with the necessary raw materials.

VNIRO specialists familiarized themselves with the educational and experimental departments of the Higher School of Fisheries and Marine Technology, and also did a lot of work to collect the necessary materials.
