Measures to replenish sturgeon fish stocks in the Caspian basin

The Volga-Caspian branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) continues work to replenish the stocks of sturgeon species in the Caspian basin.

Thus, on July 11, as part of compensation measures, for the purpose of damage to the environment caused by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, the Scientific and Experimental Aquaculture Complex "BIOS", which is part of the Volga-Caspian Branch, released 6657 pieces of Russian juveniles into the watercourse of the Volga River - the Bakhtemir River sturgeon weighed over 3 grams.

The release of juvenile Russian sturgeon was confirmed by the commission monitoring the implementation of work on the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources, as well as by representatives of customer organizations participating in compensation measures.
