For reference
Scientific cooperation between our countries in the field of fisheries and fishing began in the 70s of the last century. The first intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of fisheries between the USSR and Angola was signed in May 1976; 2026 will mark 50 years since this event. In 1976-1991, the domestic fleet fished in Angolan waters on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement. During these years, there was active cooperation between the branch scientists and the Angolan Fisheries Research Center. Researchers from the Atlantic branch of VNIRO were repeatedly sent to Angola for joint work with Angolan specialists. Currently, the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Angola on cooperation in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, signed on April 4, 2019 in Moscow, is in force.
