Employees of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) rightfully consider themselves involved in the celebration of this day, since their daily activities cover the creation and development of scientific and technical foundations for the protection, rational use, study and reproduction of aquatic biological resources in the inland waters of Russia and sea basins.
29 branches of the institute significantly expand the geography of the Russian Federation’s presence in research of the reserves of the World Ocean, incl. together with leading scientists from other countries.
Specialists conduct a comprehensive assessment of the quality of the habitat of aquatic biological resources, study the state of fish stocks and develop methodological recommendations for regulating fishing in water bodies.
