Families from the Vologda region and other regions of Russia with experience and skills in recreational fishing were invited to participate. A mandatory requirement was the participation of performers as a team: one adult and one child under 14 years old.
As part of the Competition, fishing competitions were held in the “Float Rod” category. Despite difficult weather conditions, 18 teams took part in the “Family Fishing” competition on the banks of the Kuzminsky Canal. Amateur fishermen caught 553 fish with a total weight of almost 11 kilograms.
The team with the largest catch weight was declared the winner. Employees of the Vologda branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) took part in the jury of the competition and weighed the catch. The winner was a family from Vologda, who managed to catch 174 specimens with a total weight of 3 kg 155 grams.
