Replenishment of aquatic biological resources in the area of ​​responsibility of the Volgograd branch of VNIRO

 

Thus, a multi-day release of juvenile fish from the fattening ponds of the fish-breeding enterprise SPK "Ergeninsky" has come to an end. The pond fund of this enterprise, which has more than half a century of history, totals about 150 hectares, the production capacity is: for carp - about 5 million specimens, for herbivores - about 3 million specimens.

 

In addition, this is one of the few enterprises where the fish-breeding process is established from the production of caviar to commercial fish.

 

The calculation of juveniles during loading into live fish transport was carried out using the volumetric-weight method. The delivery of juveniles to the place of release was carried out by live fish transport.

 

Within the framework of contracts for the performance of work on the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources in order to compensate for the damage caused to aquatic bioresources and their habitat, the majority of water bodies in the area of ​​responsibility of the Volgograd branch of VNIRO were replenished with young fish. The release was carried out in the Tsimlyansk and Volgograd reservoirs, the Don, Volga, Akhtuba rivers, as well as in the reservoirs of the Volga-Don shipping canal.
