Replenishment of the Volga River with juvenile sturgeon

Specialists from the Volgograd branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) took part in the planned fish farming activities for the artificial reproduction of beluga, sturgeon, and sterlet.
This month, branch employees participated in the work of the commission of the Volga-Caspian Territorial Administration of the Federal Fisheries Agency, which monitors the implementation of work on the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources.

At the Volgograd sturgeon fish hatchery of the Nizhnevolzhsky branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Glavrybvod" an annual fish farming event takes place - obtaining reproductive products from producers of beluga, Russian sturgeon and sterlet from its own sturgeon broodstock. The work is carried out with the aim of incubating the resulting eggs, further pond and pool rearing of juveniles to standard weights. It is planned to further release juveniles into the Volga River in order to fulfill the state task.
