During the studies, research fellows and specialists at each monitoring point determined the nature of bottom sediments, measured the depth, temperature, dissolved oxygen content, pH, mineralization, transparency, and collected samples of phytoplankton, zooplankton and zoobenthos to assess the food supply for fish.
To assess the state of commercial fish populations on the Lozsko-Azatskoye Lake, 20 net installations were carried out. The catches included pike perch, bream, perch, roach, white bream, rudd, tench, and pike.
The length, weight, sex, stage of gonad maturity, degree of obesity, and intestinal fullness were determined for each caught fish specimen, and scales and fin rays were collected to study the age of the fish.
In September, field studies were conducted to assess the current state and number of natural populations of endangered species - Atlantic salmon and brown trout in the Megra River with its main tributaries. In October, an analysis of the composition of industrial catches from drift and fixed nets on Lakes Beloye and Vozhe was conducted at fish receiving points.
The collected field hydrobiological and ichthyological material is undergoing laboratory processing.
