Russian scientist wins 2025 NPAFC award

On May 12, the first day of the 32nd annual meeting of the North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission (NPAC), the winner of the 2025 NPAC Award was announced.
 
This year, the winner is Igor Melnikov, PhD in Biology, Deputy Head of the Pacific Branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO).
 
I.V. Melnikov has been a member of the Russian Federation delegation to the NPAC since 2003. He became the second Russian laureate of this honorary award since its establishment in 2011.
 
The VNIRO team congratulates Igor Vladimirovich on the well-deserved recognition by the international scientific community of his significant scientific contribution to the NPAC mission to conserve and manage anadromous fish stocks, steelhead salmon in the North Pacific Ocean and adjacent seas.
