According to the Sakhalin-Kuril Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fishery, as of May 26, the catch of masu salmon in the framework of amateur fishing amounted to 1,231 tons, and the catches are concentrated in the Aniva District.

Despite the recommendations of industry science on the organization and implementation of industrial fishing for pink salmon and masu salmon in Primorsky Krai, according to the Primorsky Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fishery, there is currently no catch.

In accordance with the Fishing Strategy and the decision of the Commission for the Regulation of the Extraction (Catch) of Anadromous Fish Species in Khabarovsk Krai, fishermen of the Primorye subzone (with the exception of the Amur Estuary) will begin fishing on May 30.

Specialists from the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) presented 16 scientific recommendations at meetings of 4 working groups and 12 regional commissions on regulating the harvesting (catch) of anadromous fish species.
