Сonservation of the Volga River biodiversity is the result of the work of VNIRO scientists

Scientists of the Volga-Caspian branchof the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) continue to participate in environmental projects aimed at preserving the ecosystem of the Caspian basin.

On the basis of the scientific and experimental complex of aquaculture "BIOS" with the participation of the limited liability company "EcoStandart", a new generation of sturgeon was released into the natural habitat.

More than 2 thousand pieces of young sevryuga have replenished the water area of the Volga-Caspian basin. Sevryuga is a very rare species of fish in the sturgeon family. Measures for the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources, which scientists carry out on a regular basis, contribute to maintaining the number of natural fish populations.
