Specialists from the Tyumen branch of VNIRO continue to search for hypersaline reservoirs that are promising for fishing

Reconnaissance fishery research was carried out on lakes in the Kurgan and Chelyabinsk regions. A scientific expedition of specialists from the laboratory of commercial invertebrates of the Tyumen branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) covered 30 “Artemia” reservoirs.

The work being carried out will first of all make it possible to update the existing list of commercial hyperhaline lakes and expand the geography of artemia fishing in Western Siberia.

The suitability of water bodies for industrial fishing can be confirmed only after regular studies of quantitative and qualitative indicators of biological resources - brine shrimp, brine shrimp at the cyst stage and their habitat.

In addition, during the expedition, scientists monitored the state of the raw material base and habitat of chaoborids, copepods and cladocerans in three fresh water bodies of the Kurgan region.
