Study of water bodies of Yekaterinburg: Lake Shartash and Verkh-Isetsky pond

On September 10 and 19, specialists from the Ural branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted field trips to the water bodies of Yekaterinburg - Lake Shartash and Verkh-Isetsky Pond.

Research fishing was carried out, the catches were dominated by roach and perch, as typical representatives of the ichthyofauna of the studied water bodies. Information was obtained on the state of the water - temperature, depth, transparency, hydrogen index (pH), and samples were collected for hydrochemical research in laboratory conditions. In order to assess the food supply of fish, samples of aquatic organisms were taken - phytoplankton, zooplankton, zoobenthos.

The collected data will allow calculating the maximum permissible volumes of release of young valuable fish species into water bodies.
