The festival was organized by the Government and ministries of the Magadan Region, the Administration of the Olsky District, the Department of Fisheries of the Magadan Region, the Okhotsk Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, the Okhotsk branch of "Glavrybvod", and other departments and enterprises. Among the organizers was the Magadan branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO).
The competition was attended by 39 family teams, each of which had at least 3 participants, including children of various ages. On the day of the festival, the Ola River was kind to the fishermen and allowed them to get an excellent catch of pink salmon, char and chum salmon. The first prize was awarded to the team members who caught 11 specimens of pink salmon in 2 hours of the competition. The Selivanovs, a family team of employees of the Magadan branch, also took part in the competition, having caught an excellent specimen of pink salmon in a tough fight.
The competition was held in a friendly family atmosphere, and the participants of the competition decided to donate all the fresh catch to social institutions.
