The international Information System AGRIS (Agricultural Research Information System) was established in 1974. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in order to coordinate the collection, processing and dissemination of scientific data on agriculture and related industries. The system is an international bibliographic network that unites about 450 national and international centers for processing and entering documents into the AGRIS database, located in 148 countries around the world.
Indexing of materials from journals published by VNIRO Publishing House helps to increase the citation rates of scientific publications of scientists of the VNIRO, and is also designed to inform the world scientific community about the latest achievements of Russian fisheries science.
