The reporting session was held at the Saratov branch of VNIRO

On February 21, the Saratov branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) held a Reporting Session on the results of research work in 2024.
 
During the session, reports were heard on the results of studies of aquatic biological resources and their habitats in the Volgograd, Saratov, Iriklinsky and Penza (Sursky) reservoirs and their tributaries. Two reports were presented by young scientists.
 
The reports on the state of stocks of fish species for which the total allowable catch is established in the Volgograd and Saratov reservoirs were of the greatest interest; the features of the long-term dynamics of hydrochemical indicators of reservoirs in the context of global climate change; large economic projects in the area of ​​responsibility of the branch in 2024 were of the greatest interest.
 
The discussion of the presented provisions took place in an atmosphere of lively communication and mutual interest. Following the discussion, the meeting participants made proposals to optimize the future activities of the laboratories and outlined a plan for future joint work on the most pressing issues in the fisheries sector.
