The scientific research flight of STM "Atlantis" to the south-eastern part of the Baltic Sea has started

As part of the expedition, scientists will conduct an accounting trawl survey to assess the state of stocks of demersal fish species, the number of replenishment of cod, flounder river. The size and age composition of bottom fish, the peculiarities of their distribution and reproduction conditions will also be studied.
In addition, a large block of work includes the analysis of hydrometeorological indicators, environmental factors and the collection of materials on the hydroacoustic characteristics of fish accumulations for the acoustic assessment of biomass.
 
The data obtained during the voyage will be used to assess the abundance and biomass of aquatic biological resources, as well as to develop measures for their rational exploitation.
 
The observations carried out are a source of information support for the forecasts of the catch.
