Tyumen branch of VNIRO increases efficiency of aquaculture

In Tyumen, at a meeting of the territorial fisheries council of the Tyumen region, the prospects for increasing the volume of aquaculture production were discussed. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Governor of the Tyumen region, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Complex Vladimir Cheimetov.

The current measures of state support for fish farming in the Tyumen region were considered - programs that help increase the attractiveness of this sector for business. A separate block was discussed on control over the activities of fish farms.

Increasing the production of commercial fish in the country is one of the priority issues facing the industry. Deputy Head of the Tyumen branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) Yana Kapustina shared the positive experience of industrial testing of a new hybrid of whitefish - pelnel, obtained by the institute's specialists. The results of the scientific experiment showed a significant advantage in the main growth indicators of the pelnel hybrid over peled and another hybrid popular with fish farms, pelchir. Scientists from the Tyumen branch of VNIRO have proven that the use of effective hybrid forms of peled for pasture aquaculture in Western Siberia will increase the commercial fish productivity of reservoirs by 30-40%. Fishermen have already expressed interest in cultivating a new aquaculture object.

Meetings in this format – with the participation of all interested parties: government, science and business – allow for effective resolution of fisheries issues, which ensures its planned development.
