On September 12, Ilya Shestakov, Head of Rosrybolovstvo, and Kirill Kolonchin, Director of VNIRO, will take part in an open discussion "The World Ocean: Global Opportunities for the Russian Fleet" (Building D, level 5, conference Hall No. 16).
The panelists will discuss promising areas for Russian fishing in the exclusive economic zones (EEZ) of foreign countries and on the high seas.
Thus, by the end of 2022, domestic fishermen produced about 580 thousand tons of fish products outside the Russian EEZ. Despite the fact that, according to current international treaties, there are legitimate grounds to multiply the volume of catch. According to industry science estimates, Russian fishermen can catch up to 2 million tons in these waters. Such volumes of catch allow us to look boldly into the future and build a long-term program for the development of the country's fisheries complex.
