The focus of scientists' attention is to determine the indices of the number of the main populations of small pelagic fish species – European sardine (S. pilchardus), Eastern mackerel (S. colias), European horse mackerel (T. trachurus), West African horse mackerel (T. trecae) in the Atlantic fishing zone of Morocco.
The work aimed at studying the species composition and biological characteristics of fish, as well as assessing their habitat, will be carried out jointly with the scientific group of the National Institute of Fisheries Research of Morocco.
During the voyage in the area of the Russian fishery, the ATLANTNIRO STM will interact with Russian fishing vessels, informing them about the presence of commercial fish accumulations. The expedition also provides for the implementation of a complex of hydrometeorological, oceanological, and hydrochemical studies.
