VNIRO specialists took part in the release of young sturgeons into the border waters of the Amur River in Fuyuan (China)

From July 14 to 16 of this year, the chief specialist of the aquaculture sector of the Khabarovsk branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) Zh.S. Litovchenko, as part of the Russian delegation, took part in events on the release of sturgeon juveniles into the border waters of the Amur River in the city of Fuyuan (PRC).

The Chinese side was represented by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the PRC, the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province, the Fisheries and Fisheries Protection Administration of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Heilongjiang Province, other ministries and departments, as well as the public - schoolchildren, students and residents of the city.

The joint release of sturgeon juveniles into the border waters of the Amur River is carried out in accordance with the decisions taken during the Joint Russian-Chinese Commission on Cooperation in the Field of Fisheries.

The Chinese side has declared 360 thousand units for release. young Amur sturgeon, 100 thousand young Kaluga sturgeon, and 100 specimens of five-year-old sturgeon grown at the Fuyuan fish hatchery, the Research Station, the Aquatic Bioresources Protection Center, and a non-governmental fish hatchery.

As part of the visit, Russian specialists visited the state-owned sturgeon plant “Sturgeon and Kaluga Park” under construction, located 7 km from Fuyuan. The plant will be commissioned this year.

The parties attach great importance to the events being held and expressed their readiness to continue working in this direction.
