Two research vessels "Dmitry Peskov" and "Vladimir Safonov" left the port of Vladivostok to conduct bottom trawling surveys in the Sea of Japan. Scientists will carry out complex work in the Primorye subzone, the Tatar Strait and the West Sakhalin subzone for one and a half months.

In the period from April 12 to 13, the CCAMLR workshop on Conversion Factors into Fish fisheries- 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the WS-CF-2022 seminar) was held. The seminar was organized in accordance with the action plan of the CCAMLR Scientific Committee for 2022 and was held in the format of a videoconference on the ZOOM platform (CCAMLR headquarters is located in Hobart, Australia).

On April 8, a meeting of experts from the Atlantic Branch of the VNIRO (AtlantNIRO) and the National Institute of Fisheries Research of Morocco (NIRI) took place in a videoconference format.

A new step in the study of salmon

VNIRO scientists returned to the port of Vladivostok after completing an international expedition to study salmon in winter, organized by the North Pacific Commission on Anadromous Fish. The work was carried out at NIS TINRO in the open waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Specialists of the Pacific branch of VNIRO are getting out into the sea on board the "Zodiac" scientific vessel. Scientists intend to investigate pollock stocks in the Primorye subzone during its spawning period, assess the background conditions for its reproduction, clarify the spawning dates and determine the spawn quantity.

The research took place in the Pacific waters of the Aleutian Islands as part of the International Year of Salmon. Comprehensive surveys were carried out to study the physiological state of salmon in winter, as well as studies of the content of microplastics in water.

The scientific research expedition of scientists of the Atlantic Branch of the VNIRO Federal State Budgetary Research University (AtlantNIRO) on the STM Atlantis vessel has ended. As part of the expedition, an accounting trawl survey of demersal fish (cod, flounder) in the southeastern part of the Baltic Sea was carried out.

The 87th voyage of VNIRO scientists on the scientific research vessel of the Russian Academy of Sciences "Academician Mstislav Keldysh" in the waters of the Atlantic part of Antarctica is coming to an end. The main part of the research on aquatic biological resources has been carried out, and now scientists are processing the collected materials.
Vilnius research vessel has completed participation in the annual Russian-Norwegian multi-species trawl-acoustic survey of the Barents Sea, taking place in February-March 2022.

On February 17, 2022, a round table meeting "Fisheries management in the Eurasian space: Balance of interests" was held at the site of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
