All planned scientific research is successfully completed. Approximately 25% of the entire program has already been completed.
Last week they worked in the area of picturesque Southern Orkney Islands.
Along the way there were ice fields and icebergs, between which the ship had to pass many times.Bird and mammal observations continue. To the south of the islands, a significant number of cetaceans were noted. The most numerous are the finwhales and humpback whales. Blue whales were observed several times, one of which passed in the immediate vicinity of the ship.
From January 6 to 12, 612 miles were covered on the survey with research works.
25 trawls and 25 complex Oceanological stations were completed.
