The research vessel STF «Atlantida» last week crossed the northern tropics (tropic of Cancer), having passed from 13 to 38 degrees north.
The weather on the passed section of the way was windy. Air and water temperatures have dropped from about 25 degrees to 18 degrees in the past week, heading north.
The crew continues to repair and paint the vessel. The scientific team is working on the preparation of the voyage report. Exploratory work and accompanying observations of seabirds and mammals are continuing.
Last week we mostly met cahows (Pterodroma), storm petrel, phaethons, boobies (Sula) and skuas. One day a small group of dolphins approached the ship.
As of April 26, along with the search works, the ship has passed 1472 nautical miles.
