Scientists from the Kamchatka branch of the Russian State Research Center "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) participated in the international scientific and practical conference "Regional Development Issues of the Russian Far East and the Arctic" (IV Moiseyev Readings).

Scientists from the Magadan branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) have completed the 2025 marine field surveys, which began in July as part of the annual monitoring of the summer-fall industrial catch of pollock and Pacific herring in the North Okhotsk fishing subzone of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk.

The autumn assessment of the broodstock of sturgeon, common fish, and paddlefish has been completed at the Volga-Caspian Research and Experimental Aquaculture Complex of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO). Most of the sturgeon specimens are kept in the unique scientific facility "VNIRO Bioresource Collection of Aquatic Bioresources."

On December 2, a meeting on the conservation and restoration of aquatic bioresources in the Sea of ​​Azov basin was held under the chairmanship of Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar. Representatives of the Rostov Region government, the scientific community, and business participated in the event.

From October to November, the Yakutsk branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) conducted a field expedition to collect ichthyological data on the Kolyma River in the Nizhnekolymsky District of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

November 24th marked Walrus Day in Russia. This annual holiday was established in 2008 to remind people of the need to respect these pinnipeds.
