Coastal studies of anadromous fishes

In June of this year, specialists from the Laboratory of Inland Water Bioresources of the Polar Branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) monitored the state of aquatic biological resources and studied the migration of anadromous fish species in the coastal waters of the Barents Sea off the Murmansk coast.
In early July of this year, specialists from the Middle Volga branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) carried out comprehensive scientific studies of water bodies (lakes, eriks, rivers) of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain, which is a unique place in terms of diversity of flora and fauna in the south of Russia.
The enterprise JSC "GK MELKOM" plans to produce 108 thousand tons of products per year. The recipes were developed jointly with the State Research Center of the Russian Federation FGBNU "VNIRO", subordinate to the Federal Fisheries Agency, the physiological characteristics of fish, stages of cultivation, as well as the requirements for the environmental safety of water bodies were taken into account. The priority is the production of feed for salmon, sturgeon and carp species.
The key scientific center of the fisheries complex, the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO), is expanding cooperation with the country's leading universities. At the Central Institute and all of its 29 branches, students receive not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills by participating in real projects.
The Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) is conducting a rating of young scientists for the fourth time in order to develop creative connections between specialists in fisheries science; to instill in young scientists a spirit of creativity, interest and competition; to develop forms of material incentives to improve the effectiveness of research.
Over the past decades, a combination of negative factors, including changes in the flow of the Don and Kuban rivers, a significant increase in the salinity of the Azov Sea and, as a result, a decrease in the productivity of natural reproduction, have led to a significant decrease in the population of pike perch and roach.
From June 30 to July 7, specialists from the Novosibirsk branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted studies of gammarid stocks in the water bodies of the Omsk Region (Lake Trauly, Lake Gorchakovo, Lake Suras, Lake Bestolkovoe, Lake Butakovskoye, Lake Akul, Lake Arapovo). The total area of the water bodies was more than 551 hectares.

New scientific fishing gear
