Deputy Director - Head of the Atlantic Branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) Konstantin Bandurin and Head of the International Cooperation Department Anastasia Teplinskaya as part of the Russian delegation took part in the 7th international fisheries exhibition "Halieutis", held in Agadir (Morocco, February 5-6, 2025).
On February 11, the presentation of the third edition of the Red Book of the Rostov Region was held at the Southern Federal University in Rostov-on-Don. The ceremony of transferring the Red Book to the Southern Federal University and the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences took place in a solemn atmosphere.
On February 3-7, on the eve of Russian Science Day, the Central Institute of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) hosted the Winter School of the scientific and educational program “Floating University”.
 
The grand opening of the Winter School began with a welcoming speech by Oleg Bulatov, Director of Research at VNIRO.
Specialists from the Azov-Black Sea branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) annually participate as national and international observers on fishing vessels operating in the CCAMLR (Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources) zone.
From January 24 to 25, specialists from the Altai branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) carried out an expedition to the Ob River within the boundaries of the Shelabolikha District of the Altai Territory in order to assess the visitation of the studied section of the watercourse by amateur fishermen in the winter.
On February 5, in Rostov-on-Don, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Vasily Sokolov, a meeting of the Azov-Black Sea Basin Scientific and Industrial Council (ABSIC) was held, at which the results of activities in the basin in 2024 were reviewed and plans for the further development of the fisheries complex in the Azov and Black Seas were outlined.
From January 21 to February 7, researchers and specialists from the Vologda branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) made 4 trips to Beloye, Kubenskoye, Vozhe lakes and the Sheksninskoye reservoir to collect ichthyological material at fish collection points.
On January 28, specialists from the laboratory of inland water bioresources of the Northern branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) took part in the work of the commission monitoring the implementation of work on the artificial reproduction of biological resources.
On February 7, on the eve of the Day of Russian Science, an open meeting of the Reporting Session of the Magadan branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) was held on the results of research work in 2024, to which representatives of executive authorities, heads of fishing enterprises and associations were invited.
On Tuesday, February 4, the first thematic section of the Reporting Session of the Pacific Branch of the Russian State Research Center "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) was held on the results of the implementation of the thematic plan of research work in 2024. Opening the event, Deputy Director - Head of the Pacific Branch of VNIRO, PhD Alexey Baitaluk congratulated the participants on the fact that for the first time in many years the Reporting Session is being held in the reconstructed assembly hall, as was customary at the Institute before. On this day, specialists from the scientific departments of the branch shared with colleagues their achievements in the direction of "Study of the raw material base of fisheries and features of biology and technologies for the reproduction of aquatic organisms in the Sea of ​​Japan." Scientists presented 11 reports, which were prepared by authors or creative teams. The issues raised by the experts are directly related to the assessment of the state of commercial stocks and the development of materials that scientifically substantiate, for example, the volumes of the total allowable catch (TAC) and the recommended catch (RC).
