Expedition to the Vazuza Reservoir

From July 14 to 18, specialists from the Upper Volga Department and the laboratory of aquatic biological resources of the freshwater fisheries branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) carried out a series of scientific activities at the Vazuzskoye Reservoir, located in the Tver and Smolensk regions.
In the summer of 2025, specialists from the Northern Branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) are conducting scientific research in the waters of the Bolvan Bay of the Barents Sea.
Based on the results of the latest research, specialists from the Sakhalin branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) have identified and described a new genus and species of amphipods.
Specialists of the Azov-Black Sea branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) continue monitoring studies of aquatic biological resources and their habitat in the water bodies of the Northern Azov region.
Specialists from the aquaculture laboratory of the Ural branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted expeditions to the Shershnevskoye and Yuzhnouralskoye reservoirs (Chelyabinsk region), Polevskoye reservoir (Sverdlovsk region) and the Uvelka River to comprehensively assess aquatic biological resources (ABR) and their habitat.
In July of this year, the research of Siberian sturgeon in the lower reaches of the Lena River was completed. The research was conducted by two scientific groups, which included specialists from the Central Institute and the Yakut branch of the Russian State Research Center "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).

Scientific research on Kyma

In June-July of this year, the Northern Branch of the Russian State Research Center "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) conducted a study of aquatic bioresources on the Kyma River (Leshukonsky District of the Arkhangelsk Region).
From July 14 to 17, specialists from the Central Institute, the Vologda branch and the freshwater fisheries branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) carried out scientific research to assess water pollution with microplastics in large fishery reservoirs of the Vologda Region - Lakes Beloye and Kubenskoye.
