The long-term work of several generations of scientists from the Sakhalin branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), as well as students of the Sakhalin State University, is embodied in this full-fledged monograph.

In recent years, the Azov-Black Sea branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) has significantly expanded resource studies in the Sea of ​​Azov and adjacent water bodies.

In the early spring, specialists from the Middle Volga branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted comprehensive observations of the living conditions of fish in Lake Tsatsa, which is located within the boundaries of the Volgograd Region in the Sarpinsky endorheic region at the foot of the Yergeni Upland.

On March 4 and 5, a reporting session on the results of research for 2024 was held in Rostov-on-Don at the Azov-Black Sea branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO).

Ice formation is observed annually in the Northern Caspian.

In early March 2025, the first work on obtaining the sexual products of Russian sturgeon was carried out at the Scientific and Experimental Aquaculture Complex "BIOS" of the Volga-Caspian branch of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).

On March 5, a working meeting of representatives of the Northern Branch of the Russian State Research Center "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), the Northern Sea Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, the Assembly of Deputies and the Administration of the Mezen Municipal District, the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia with organizers of amateur fishing and amateur fishermen who traditionally fish in the rivers and lakes of the Mezen Municipal District of the Arkhangelsk Region was held in the city of Mezen.

On March 6, the Central Institute of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) held a regular meeting of the Academic Council chaired by Oleg Bulatov, Director for Research.

On March 4 and 5, the Central Institute of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) held meetings of the Working Groups on assessing the total allowable catches (TAC) of priority objects of Russian fisheries for 2026.

Ice formation in the Sea of ​​Azov is determined by many factors, including air temperature in winter, location and depth of individual areas of the sea, their distance from the Kerch Strait, as well as alternation of warm and cold fronts in winter.
