Successful artificial reproduction of valuable fish populations begins with the correct maintenance of broodstock. All fish farming processes are seasonal and subject to the life cycle of the fish.

Specialists from the Altai branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted research on the Ob River within the Pervomaysky and Shelabolikha districts of the Altai Territory.

For the first time in the last ten years, specialists from the Magadan branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) have resumed work interrupted in 2015 on monitoring the downstream migration of Pacific salmon juveniles in the rivers of Shelikhov Bay.

At the initiative of the Vologda branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO), since 2014, events on the artificial reproduction of rare and vulnerable fish species have been carried out in the region on an ongoing basis using funds from compensation measures for damage caused to aquatic bioresources by economic activities.
