Specialists from the Magadan and Pacific branches of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) on the research vessel “Zodiac” completed scientific research on populations of commercial invertebrates in the North-Okhotsk subzone and the Central part of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk.

The climate changes that have been occurring in the last decade have become noticeable to the naked eye and not only to meteorologists. The water and air temperatures have increased, there is less ice and snow, and less water in the rivers. But what such changes lead to can only be understood with a systematic scientific approach.

Specialists from the Pskov branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted a study of the state of the spawning grounds of Lake Zhizhitskoye in the Kuninsky District of the Pskov Region in late July - early August of this year in order to assess the effectiveness of natural spawning.

Specialists from the laboratory of commercial invertebrates of the Tyumen branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) have completed the second, final stage of research into hyperhaline lakes in the Chelyabinsk, Kurgan and Tyumen regions.

From August 18 to 20, specialists from the Azov-Black Sea branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) conducted research in the waters of the Ust-Manych, Veselovsky, Proletarsky reservoirs, as well as in the Sal River. The aim of the work was to assess the current state of the habitat and determine the level of food supply for fish and crustaceans.
