Scientists of the Volga-Caspian branchof the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) continue to participate in environmental projects aimed at preserving the ecosystem of the Caspian basin.

In July of this year, the Sirius Educational Center hosted the festival of scientific and technological projects "Big Challenges".  The main goal of this large–scale event is to help talented young scientists realize their creative potential and get involved in conducting promising research.

The race "5 versts in Zatyumenskoye" opened a series of festive events for the City Day. Olympic champions, sports veterans, business leaders, social activists, students, representatives of the city administration and Rosrybolovstvo came out for the morning start in the ecopark – more than 670 people in total.

The Second Summit and the Russia-Africa 2023 Economic and Humanitarian Forum were held in St. Petersburg. The business program of the events held on the sidelines of the Summit was devoted to discussing strategies for strengthening cooperation between Russia and Africa.

VNIRO at the BRICS young scientists forum

In 2023, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education selected the best works of young scientists of our country to participate in the Forum of Young Scientists of the BRICS countries.

On June 28-29, Petrozavodsk hosts the board of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography, which summarizes the results of the work of the Central Institute and branches for 2022 and the first half of 2023. The board members discuss promising areas for further development of VNIRO's activities as a key scientific center of the fisheries industry.
