Business trip to Tula region

As part of the state assignment, from July 22 to 26, specialists from the laboratory of aquatic biological resources of the freshwater fisheries branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) conducted research to determine the categorization of water bodies in the Tula region: tributaries of the Shat, Oka, Turdey, and Shatets rivers.
On a sunny July weekend, the amateur fishing festival "Klevaya Kolyma 2024" - summer season - was held on the Ola River.
From July 15 to July 19, as part of the state assignment, specialists from the laboratory of aquatic biological resources of the branch for freshwater fisheries of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) conducted field research on the Ruzskoye and Ozerninskoye reservoirs.
Ichthyologists from the Tyumen branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) conducted a comprehensive survey in the Khatanga River. The work was carried out jointly with the Russian Geographical Society (RGS).
As part of scientific support for the salmon run in July 2024, employees of the Sakhalin branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) began surveying spawning streams and counting the number of salmon producers using photo and video recording from a UAV in the southern part of Sakhalin Island. The work is simultaneously accompanied by walking tours and assessment of thermal conditions.
Leading specialist of the scientific expedition department of the Polar Branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) Yuri Mullin conducted research on the snow crab opilio on the vessel PK-1654 "Volk Arktiki" in the exclusive economic zone of Russia and the open part of the Barents Sea.
On July 23, the Vologda branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) held the 2nd stage of the VNIRO Amateur Fishing Championship "Fishing for Science". The winners of the 1st stage of the Championship from the Polar, Northern, Karelian and Vologda branches of VNIRO took part in the competition. The venue for the competition was the Kuzminsky Canal of the Northern Dvina Lock System in the city of Kirillov in the Vologda Region.
Last week, the Magadan Regional Library named after A.S. Pushkin hosted a visiting meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Regions of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS), where they discussed the further development of the Magadan Regional Branch and talked about major regional projects.
Specialists from the Baikal branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) assessed the abundance and biomass of commercial fish stocks, the state of the food supply and the habitat of ichthyofauna in the Ivano-Arakhlei lakes and rivers of the Trans-Baikal Territory. Field research lasted more than a month.

Complex expedition in the Caspian Sea

One of the main tasks of the Volga-Caspian branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) is to study the state of the Caspian Sea hydrobiont populations, aquatic biological resources and their habitat. For this purpose, a group of researchers went on a month-long expedition to the Middle Caspian on the research vessel "Issledovatel Kaspiia".
