Interim results of the work of NIS "Vilnius"

The research vessel (NIS) of the Polar Branch of VNIRO MK-0102 Vilnius continues its work in the Barents Sea.

On February 1-2, a reporting session of the Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography was held in Saratov, where VNIRO scientists presented the results of applied scientific research carried out in 2022.

During the bonitation at the sturgeon hatcheries of the Azov-Black Sea basin, subordinated to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Glavrybvod", scientists of the Azov-Black Sea branch of VNIRO performed studies that contribute to the optimal conduct of the spring spawning campaign at reproductive enterprises. The assessment of the condition and productive qualities of producers of Russian sturgeon, sturgeon, sterlet in repair and breeding herds was given. Of particular importance are the studies of the repair and breeding stock of beluga, conducted at the Don sturgeon plant.

Quality control of fish food products is the main task of technologists of the fisheries industry. VNIRO specialists in the field of standardization and rationing have been successfully developing methods for certifying the quality of products and assessing their food value for many years, which protects the market from counterfeiting and falsification.

On January 24, NIS MK-0102 "Vilnius" went on a flight as part of a joint Russian-Norwegian winter ecosystem trawl-acoustic survey.
The results of the research work of scientists of the Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography have not only theoretical significance, but also practical relevance aimed at optimizing the work of the industrial sector of the industry. One of the priority goals in this direction is to solve the problem of import substitution of fish feed in the field of aquaculture.
The work is planned to be carried out in the North Okhotsk subzone from January to February 2023 at the Krevetkolov - Ossora STR. An employee of the Magadan branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO, a subordinate institution of Rosrybolovstvo) will monitor the industrial fishing of northern shrimp in the Sea of Okhotsk.

On December 16, Ilya Gerashchenko, Deputy Director of VNIRO, spoke at a conference at MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia with a report "On the activities of VNIRO and possible areas of scientific and technical cooperation in the field of fisheries between the Russian Federation and Malaysia".

On December 12, 2022, the research vessel STM ATLANTNIRO returned to Kaliningrad after performing an international expedition off the coast of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The XII International Forum "The Arctic: Present and Future" was held in St. Petersburg.
