41 employees of the Kamchatka branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) took part in the scientific support of the salmon fishing season, 32 bioinformation collection points were involved, 7 reference reservoirs were surveyed, biomaterial was collected from 19 thousand producers, 180 flight hours were spent on 55 reservoirs, where about 33 million Pacific salmon were recorded.

The research was carried out on a standard grid of stations, fishing was carried out with a 24.7-meter bottom trawl.
Fourth-year biology students (major in Biology, Ecology and Environmental Safety) of the North-Eastern State University (Magadan) are undergoing a two-week industrial practice to gain professional skills and experience in the chemical laboratory of ecology of fishery water bodies of the Magadan branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).
On September 20, a visiting working meeting of the operational headquarters for the organization of the protection of the Baikal omul during the spawning period was held. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Buryatia - Minister of Agriculture and Food Galsan Dareev.
