Employees of the laboratory of aquatic bioresources of the Yakut branch of VNIRO conducted an expedition to assess the state of aquatic bioresources in the lower reaches of the Lena River in the Bulunsky District of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
As part of scientific support for the salmon fishing season in the Magadan Region, specialists from the Magadan branch, L. L. Khovanskaya, and the Central Institute, E. A. Boltnev, assessed the approaches of Pacific salmon producers on the Iret River.
From July 22 to July 26 and from August 12 to August 18, 2024, employees of the Altai branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "VNIRO" ("AltaiNIRO"), as part of the implementation of a state contract concluded with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Altai Territory, for the provision of services for the event "Survey of water bodies, determination of optimal ways of using water bodies, assessment of the possibility of creating fishing or fish farming areas. Resource studies in the Mezen River basin

On August 9-14, employees of the Northern Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "VNIRO" conducted research on aquatic bioresources on the Mezenskaya Pizhma River in the Arkhangelsk Region in order to study the state of natural reproduction of Atlantic salmon, as well as other fish species.
On August 22, a ceremonial event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the westernmost branch of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), took place in Kaliningrad.
The Northern Branch of VNIRO continued resource studies of the Northern Dvina River delta during the cruise of the research boat Priliv. Monitoring of aquatic bioresources was conducted from August 8 to 18 at 5 stations.

Start of the Great African Expedition

On August 21, a ceremonial event dedicated to the start of the Great African Expedition (GAE) of the Russian State Scientific Center, the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) took place in Kaliningrad. Two research vessels, ATLANTNIRO and ATLANTIDA, will conduct comprehensive research in the territorial waters and exclusive economic zone of eighteen African countries as part of the GAE.
The comprehensive expedition of the Pacific (TINRO) and Kamchatka (KamchatNIRO) branches of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography on the research vessel Professor Kaganovsky has ended in the waters of the West Kamchatka shelf.
In August 2024, employees of the Novosibirsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "VNIRO", in accordance with the plan and program of research, monitored the state of aquatic bioresources and their habitat in medium and small lakes of the Tevriz District of the Omsk Region.
The head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries of the Russian Federation (Rosrybolovstvo) Ilya Shestakov has headed the headquarters of the Great African Expedition to assess the state of aquatic biological resources in the exclusive economic zones of African countries in the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.
