On November 20, the regular meeting of the Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) on crabs and craboids was held under the Academic Council of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).

The research of the International Scientific Expedition in the Seas of the Russian Arctic was aimed at identifying the features of the functioning of the "lithosphere-cryosphere-hydrosphere-atmosphere" geosystems of the Arctic seas of Russia in the context of modern climate change. Long-term interdisciplinary oceanographic research was continued.

In the Kerch department of the Azov-Black Sea branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO), work is being carried out to study the possibility of effective fishing for a new promising commercial fishery object – the bivalve mollusk anadara (according to the Fishing Rules of the Azov-Black Sea Basin – scapharka).

Russian fisheries in the Baltic Sea target such commercial species of aquatic biological resources as cod, Baltic herring (herring), sprat (kilka) and flounder.

A large-scale industry event, the International Water Forum, was held in Khanty-Mansiysk. Employees of the Khanty-Mansiysk department of the Tyumen branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) took part in it.

In September-November, research fellows and specialists of the Vologda branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) conducted comprehensive expeditionary trips to the lakes Beloye, Kubenskoye, Vozhe, Velikoye, Lozsko-Azatskoye, the river part of the Sheksninskoye reservoir, the Megra River to study hydrological and hydrochemical features, as well as collect hydrobiological and ichthyological material.

From September 7 to October 17, observations of industrial production of aquatic bioresources were conducted in the fishing areas of the Pechora River within the boundaries of the Izhemsky District of the Komi Republic.

Deputy Director of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) - Head of the Tyumen branch Evgeny Darinov congratulated the leading agricultural university of the Ural Federal District on its anniversary.

On October 14 and November 12, 2024, employees of the Altai branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO), as part of the Commission monitoring the implementation of work on the artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources, carried out on-site events to ensure control over the release of juvenile carp into the Ob River within the boundaries of the Altai Territory.

The 2nd meeting of the East Siberian Scientific and Industrial Council of the East Siberian Fishery Basin (ESFB) was held in Yakutsk under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo), Chairman of the Council Mikhail Ivanik.
