Field research on the Tavda River

From October 7 to 18, specialists from the Ural branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted field studies of the Tavda River in the Sverdlovsk Region.
The Volga-Caspian branch of the Russian State Research Center of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) is assessing the conditions for maintaining a live collection of sturgeon species in the summer period at the BIOS NEKA, part of the Unique Scientific Facility "Bioresource Collection of ABR" of VNIRO.
Employees of the Perm branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) have completed observations on water bodies of the Kirov Region, which were conducted from May to September of this year.
n October of this year, as part of the implementation of the applied topic "Complex ichthyological and hydrobiological studies of the main freshwater ecosystems of the Volga-Caspian basin in order to assess their receiving capacity" on the reservoirs of the Volga-Don shipping canal (Karpovskoye, Bereslavskoye and Varvarovskoye reservoirs), employees of the Volgograd branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO) conducted planned autumn hydrobiological studies to collect material from the main groups of hydrobionts that form the food base of fish (phytoplankton, zooplankton and zoobenthos). The material was collected along an established grid of stations, which included 27 sampling points. During the work, the branch's specialists collected 81 hydrobiological samples. At the same time, measurements of some hydrochemical and hydrological characteristics of water bodies (depth, temperature and transparency of water, oxygen content, electrical conductivity, etc.) were carried out in order to assess anthropogenic factors affecting the functioning of the reservoirs of the Volga-Don Shipping Canal.
On October 18, a Kazakh delegation headed by Vice Minister of Agriculture Amangali Berdalin visited the Astrakhan Region to fulfill the assignment of the Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan to develop design and estimate documentation for the project "Updating the Atyrau Sturgeon Farm", part of which took place at the Volga-Caspian branch of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography" (VNIRO).

From October 1 to 13, specialists from the Ural branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) conducted field work on the lakes of the Chelyabinsk region.
The format of events in the form of excursions to industry institutions is considered the most effective for senior students of specialized universities, since it allows them to get as close as possible to the specialty of interest and see the future profession "from the inside".
