In May-June, at the Votkinsk Reservoir (Perm Territory) and water bodies of the Republic of Bashkortostan, employees of the Perm branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) analyzed the catches of amateur fishermen.

On the basis of the Saratov branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), the second stage of the VNIRO Championship in amateur fishing “Fishing by Science” was held in the Volga-Caspian fishery basin. The competition was attended by employees of the Central Institute, the freshwater fisheries branch, as well as the Nizhny Novgorod, Tatar and Saratov branches.

From June 13 to July 3, the Yakut branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) conducted a large expedition to collect data in the I, II and III-order tributaries of the Vilyui River.

Today in Irkutsk a solemn ceremony took place to launch the scientific research vessel (RV) Vikenty Zaitsev.

The Yakut branch, together with the Central Institute of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), conducted research to study the Lena population of Siberian sturgeon in the Aldan and Vilyui rivers.

During the period from July 1 to July 4, as part of the state assignment, specialists from the laboratory of aquatic biological resources of the freshwater fisheries branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) conducted field research on the Kershin Reservoir.

The Department of Basin Fisheries Forecasts and Fisheries Regulation of the Pacific Branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) has prepared the 25th edition of the publication “The State of the Fisheries Resources of the Far Eastern Fisheries Basin - 2024.” The material is formed on the basis of biological substantiations of forecasts for individual reserve units, which were prepared by the raw materials and background divisions of the Far Eastern branches of VNIRO (Pacific, Khabarovsk, Magadan, Sakhalin, Kamchatka).

On July 6, in the city of Kirillov, Vologda Region, the first regional competition “Family Fishing” was held, dedicated to the upcoming holiday - Fisherman’s Day and the Year of the Family in Russia.

As part of the continuation of summing up the work of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) for the first half of 2024, a round table was held in the conference hall of the Sheraton Hotel in Nizhny Novgorod on July 5.
